From the garden of Masahiro Kuma, producer of 2017's #1 Gyokuro in Japan. Yame Dento Hon Gyokuro is grown beneath rice straw trellis' for around 25 days then handpicked and processed immediately. Made from 100% Saemidori cultivar from a single field, this unblended Gyokuro showcases the hallmark style of Masahiro Kuma: Rich and deep while still reflecting the flavor of the place (Joyomachi, Fukuoka) and never losing site of the full character of the cultivar. A keen understanding of both the microclimate and soil conditions mean Kuma san is free to make Gyokuro that to tastes like his and his alone. A triumph and a tea we are honored to carry.
