Minamata Tsuyuhikari Shincha

We discovered the Sakaguchi family on our recent sourcing trip to Japan and were captivated by their teas. Grown in the mountains of Minamata, Kumamoto—a region bordering Kagoshima with a rich yet lesser-known tea heritage—this 100% Tsuyuhikari sencha captivated us. Medium-steamed and expertly rolled, it brews up fresh and vibrant with intoxicating aromas and a smooth, elegant finish.

Shincha is an indicator of the arrival of spring, and this young, fresh green tea is sold for only a small window of time, roughly one month.
