This deep steamed tea benefits from slow plant maturation prior to harvest thanks to the high elevation of the region, where nighttime temperatures drop significantly. In the cup, this translates to a rich green color with an electric grassiness and heady fragrance. Produced by the Miyahara family, who also make our Chiran Sencha, Sumire is a textbook example of the beauty to be found in the affordable, daily drinking teas of Kagoshima.
