A first for us in 2023: tea from the majestic island of Yakushima off the coast of Kagoshima. Grown in a subtropical environment, this blended sencha combines two classic cultivars making for a fresh and fragrant tea picked in mid April. Made naturally with little intervention, this beautiful tea that represents an underappreciated region of Japanese tea production.
