Hot: 1st Steep: 5g of leaf | 180g of water @ 195°F | Steep for 1 minute. 2nd Steep: 200°F | Steep for 1 minute

Storage: Keep the tea in the refrigerator. After opening, place the tin in a ziploc bag before returning to the fridge - this will protect the tea from absorbing any aromas from your refrigerator.

What is so special about this tea? This Houjicha comes from the "lab" of one of our most trusted tea makers and represents his relentless pursuit of creativity. This very left of center offering has a personality not often found in Japanese tea and furthers the current trend of using controlled withering to temper the grassiness of Japanese green tea while bring out a unique floral aroma. This is a very small lot and gives us confidence that the landscape of Japanese tea is flourishing. We are so excited to find a new audience for this audacious producers offerings.
