A perfect tea cup for the daily drinker. This wheelthrown piece was wood fired using local Dosenbo clay and a natural pinkish glaze. We fill our every afternoon with steaming hot Houjicha.
Shimizu san studied under Atsuya Hamada, son of Shoji Hamada, a living national treasure. Shimziu san now works out of his own studio in Dosenbo, Minamiyamashiro in Uji. He is also an avid Houijcha fan, roasting his own leaves regularly.
