Welcome to Roast Club. Each month Kettl will choose an exclusive Houjicha base from one of Japan’s top producers—think unique cultivars and particularly fragrant selections—and slowly roast the tea on our in-house infrared roaster. We ship the houjicha to you within 24 hours of roasting ensuring a fresh, fragrant tea awaits you. We will also include a serving of the unroasted tea for you to be able to explore the nuaunce of the tea both roasted and unroasted.
All new Roast Club installments ship on the 15th of each month.
Members who join between the 1st and the 15th will receive the upcoming selection as their first order, shipped on the 15th. Members who join between the 15th and the end of the month will receive the current selection as their first order immediately upon sign up. Ensuing orders will be processed on the 15th.
Uji Kabuse
This month's roast club features a stunning shaded Sencha from the famed area of Wazuka, the most prolific area of Sencha production in Uji. When roasted, the rich profile and heady aroma are accentuated, yielding a remarkably flavorful and fragrant cup.
