Minamata Tsuyuhikari Shincha (Pre-Order)

We discovered the Sakaguchi family on our recent sourcing trip to Japan and were captivated by their teas. Grown in the mountains of Minamata, Kumamoto—a region bordering Kagoshima with a rich yet lesser-known tea heritage—this 100% Tsuyuhikari sencha captivated us. Medium-steamed and expertly rolled, it brews up fresh and vibrant with intoxicating aromas and a smooth, elegant finish.

Shincha is an indicator of the arrival of spring, and this young, fresh green tea is sold for only a small window of time, roughly one month. We're selling our 2025 selections as pre-orders, launching them as soon as the teas are being harvested. Domestic pre-orders will ship as soon as the tea arrives in our Brooklyn warehouse—typically within 10 days of launch.
