This handmade bowl was crafted exclusively for Kettl by master potter Yoshiyuki Shimizu in Kyoto. The outside of the bowl includes hand painting, a unique detail from Shimuzu-san. Ideal for aromatic teas, the wide design is inspired by Taiwanese tea wares and the larger surface area promotes more aromatics.
Yoshiyuki Shimizu trained under Atsuya Hamada, the son of renowned Living National Treasure Shoji Hamada. He now creates his work from his studio in Dosenbo, Minamiyamashiro, located in the Uji region.
