Katade Sosogitsubo - Yoshiyuki Shimizu
This handmade yuzamashi was crafted exclusively for Kettl by master potter Yoshiyuki Shimizu using a mixture of clay called karatsu from Saga and tokai from Gifu. Shimizu-san mixes clay to create unique, clean, and beautiful pieces. The yuzamashi is glazed on the inside, making it ideal for everyday use. The inner glaze will prevent lingering aromas after use, allowing the yuzamashi to be used across a wide variety of teas, including herbal.
Yoshiyuki Shimizu trained under Atsuya Hamada, the son of renowned Living National Treasure Shoji Hamada. He now creates his work from his studio in Dosenbo, Minamiyamashiro, located in the Uji region.
