This matcha is made from 100% Asahi cultivar Tencha produced in a coveted area of award winning producer Kiyoharu Tsuji's garden. It was shaded for almost 40 days, hand harvested, processed and hand sorted for color and uniformity, specifically for competition submission, where it took first place in all of Uji. No expense was spared in the production of this exceptional tea.

The flavor is a remarkable achievement, featuring everything we love about Kiyoharu Tsuji's matcha but in a surreal, high definition experience—fresh decadent aromatics, a lush mouthfeel, soft sweetness and a thick, lingering umami. Color, flavor and aroma in perfect balance.

This tea will be freshly milled in Brooklyn, NY on our professional stone mill.

Usucha: In a tea bowl, whisk 2g of sifted Matcha powder with 65g of water (180°F) with a bamboo whisk until a fine foam is achieved.

Koicha: In a tea bowl, add 4g of sifted Matcha powder and 30-35g of water (180°F) and knead gently with a whisk until the matcha is completely mixed and is the texture of paint.
