Based in Wakayama prefecture, Morioka san is an influential potter who has made a lasting impact on Japanese ceramics not only through his own work but also his guidance and tutelage to a younger generation of potters. Morioka san’s works with multiple styles of clay and is known for his experimentation with glazes and firing times. His work is both expressive and functional and is at home both in the tea room, and your own home. This piece was sourced personally by Zach and Minami, Kettl’s owners, at Morioka san’s studio in November 2024.
