This is among the most breathtaking teas we have not only had the privilege of sharing, but of tasting ourselves. To our knowledge, no one else in Japan is producing Silver Needle tea—a style of tea that is a coveted rarity in Fujian region of China and unheard of within Japan. Silver needle tea is produced entirely from young spring buds that are hand picked before they fully open in the early season. The tender buds are then slowly withered naturally in the shade, resulting in a stunning, almost crystalline color. In the cup, the leaves express a tropical fruited profile, elevated by a heady fragrance and lasting sweetness. Every sip leaves us speechless.
