Tsuguto Hattori Hand Picked Tea Collection
Tsuguto Hattori may be one of the most innovative tea producers in all of Japan, crafting styles of tea found practically nowhere else in Japan. Hattori-san is a computer programmer by trade, but he purchased abandoned tea fields in Higashiyoshino, Nara, and started a passion project, hand-harvesting the Yabukita tea plants on the property and processing them entirely by himself. Between the tiny size of his operation and the cost of producing the unique styles of tea he's drawn towards, Hattori-san was unsure of the sustainability of his venture. After tasting his teas for the first time in early 2025, we were moved to visit him to figure out how we could support his vision. Later that year, Kettl committed to buying the entirety of his output, ensuring these breathtaking teas remain available in an evolving landscape of domestically produced teas across a range of styles.
These are some of the most limited teas in our entire catalog and are not to be missed.
